Our standards

Proof, before promises.

A product does not earn a place here because its packaging sounds good. It earns it with records we can verify.

Our measure is simple

Know the material. Know the maker. See the work behind it.

The sourcing record

Materials, origin, certification, process, and ownership—kept together and kept current.

01

Third-party proof

A claim is only as meaningful as the evidence behind it.

We look for current certification from established independent standards, including GOTS, OEKO-TEX Standard 100, USDA Organic, and comparable organizations. A maker’s own language is never enough.

02

Natural materials first

What something is made from matters from the beginning.

We prioritize organic cotton, linen, wool, and other recognizable natural materials. We do not accept bamboo rayon, and we avoid synthetics such as elastane wherever a natural alternative exists.

03

Nothing hidden

Every ingredient and material belongs on the record.

Complete lists and percentages are required. Broad terms such as “fragrance” or “proprietary blend” do not meet our standard because they keep shoppers from knowing what they are bringing home.

04

Filmed at the source

We want to see where and how a product is made.

Every product requires a factory film before it can be offered for sale. The people, process, and place should be visible—not reduced to a line of marketing copy.

05

Independence matters

Ownership is part of a product’s story.

We favor small independent makers, document who owns each company, and make changes public. If ownership shifts, the record changes with it.

The standard is the starting point.
